A richly coloured bathroom that brings sophistication and practicality to this family’s busy bath-time routine. The brief was to create a functional ensuite, that was flexible and spacious enough for use by multiple family members, including two young children, and felt sophisticated and joyful to be in.
The space has been designed into zones to allow for multiple activities to occur easily together. Storage is plentiful, with a separate make-up station at one end, a large and luxurious steam shower at the other, and an expansive vanity in the middle.
The colour palette was set upon discovery of the heart-stopping graphic terrazzo – which both client and Angela fell in love with. This deeply tonal terrazzo is used as floor tiles, that extend upwards becoming the base of the vanity and then along into a shower seat. The seat becomes completely enclosed in the steam shower – creating a quiet refuge. Restrained finishes elsewhere compliment and balance the graphic base – matte nude wall tiles and refined nude cabinetry.
Custom made light fittings add a layer of glamour and softness to the space. Brass task lighting sits within the bespoke make-up mirror, terrazzo halo wall lights within the shower draw you in and a rose coloured marble Volker Haug light has been integrated into the main bathroom mirror.
The result is a beautiful and richly tonal bathroom, a feast for the eyes, that feels uplifting to be in, is very practical and adds a little joy to this family’s morning routine.
